Format conversion

Icons and favicons
Saves ICO files up to 256×256 pixels — enough for a website favicon. It works the other way too: you can extract the image from an existing ICO.
Privacy
Images are processed on your device. Photo metadata — EXIF, the date, and the GPS coordinates of the shot — is not carried over to the result.
Lossless scaling for SVG
A vector image can be scaled up as well as down: it is rendered directly at the target size, up to 5000 pixels per side.
Questions and answers
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. Resizing is done by your browser, and the files never leave your device. That is also why the tool stays fast even with large photos.
How do I reduce a photo’s file size?
Reduce the pixel dimensions and save as JPG or WebP at 70–80% quality — the difference is invisible to the eye, while the file gets several times smaller. At the same quality, WebP is usually smaller than JPG.
Can I enlarge a small image?
The tool does not enlarge raster images (JPG, PNG, WebP): stretching adds no new detail, it only blurs the picture. SVG can be scaled up with no loss of quality.
How do I make a favicon.ico from an image?
Upload the image, choose “Square” mode, a size of 32 or 48 pixels, and the ICO format. A source with a transparent background — PNG or SVG — works best.
What happens to photo metadata?
It is removed. EXIF data, the camera model, the date, and the GPS coordinates are not carried over to the result, which makes the photo safer to publish.
What are the limits?
Up to 24 files at a time, each no larger than 10 MB. The longest side of the result is 5000 pixels, or 256 for ICO.
